Jaseel CK Represents The Ignite Foundation at the World Youth Development Forum

We’re proud to share that Jaseel CK, Co-founder and Innovation Lead of The Ignite Foundation, recently represented us at the World Youth Development Forum (WYDF), held on the eve of World Youth Day. The event was attended by 2,000 young leaders from over 130 countries, with participants joining both online and on-site, creating a dynamic platform for meaningful global dialogue. The forum’s theme, "Together for a Better Future", united voices to advance the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Development Initiative.

During the opening ceremony, Jaseel delivered a thought-provoking talk on the evolving nature of poverty and the importance of bolstering social safety nets. He highlighted how these nets are essential for safeguarding vulnerable populations from seasonal and economic shocks, ensuring quick support during crises. Jaseel’s words resonated with young attendees across continents, many of whom expressed gratitude for voicing a pressing reality.

This impactful experience underscored the importance of open dialogue on pressing social issues. Following his address, Jaseel connected with youth from diverse backgrounds, some visibly moved, underscoring the power of advocacy and empathetic leadership.

The event was a testament to the collaborative spirit of the forum, with significant support from ASEFEdu, the Asia-Europe Foundation's educational branch. Special acknowledgment goes to Freya Chow-Paul and Linnéa Regnell of ASEFEdu, who offered invaluable support and guidance.

Jaseel also extended gratitude to his colleagues and mentors, including Naji Mahfood, Abhilash John, Ijas Hakkim, Asif Ali VM, Sulfeeker Aly P K, Afsal Mohammed B, and Hameem Muhammad from The Ignite Foundation, Khoj, and The Gulmohar Foundation.
