UNESCO APCEIU Honors The Ignite Foundation’s Design Lab on Global Citizenship Education with Excellence Award
We are thrilled to announce that The Ignite Foundation’s Design Lab on Global Citizenship Education (GCED) has received the prestigious Excellence Award from UNESCO’s Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU). This award celebrates our team’s efforts and innovative approach in advocating for global citizenship education, fostering a deeper understanding of global issues, diversity, and sustainable development among young learners.
The award was presented following the Alumni Scale-Up Projects presentation at the UNESCO APCEIU Alumni Forum, where our team showcased the impact and success of the GCED initiatives during their first year. Designed and implemented by a dedicated team, the Design Lab empowers students with the knowledge, values, and skills needed to engage as active and responsible global citizens.
Looking Ahead: Expanding GCED in Kerala and Beyond
As we celebrate this milestone, The Ignite Foundation is gearing up to scale the GCED curriculum across schools in Kerala. We’re reaching out to organizations interested in partnering with us to implement GCED programs that nurture global awareness and critical thinking. Additionally, we are excited to extend our reach to northern India, where we plan to develop resources and curriculum in Hindi, making GCED accessible to an even wider community of young changemakers.
