Nurturing Changemaker
The School for Social Transformation
A Catalyst for Community Impact
The School for Social Transformation (SST) is more than just a program; it's a catalyst for change. This initiative, launched by The Ignite Foundation, aims to empower young individuals to become social leaders and drive positive change in their communities.
Success Stories Abound
The SST has produced a remarkable array of inspiring initiatives. One such example is Micha Meedhi, founded by Shiva Bala and Sadhana from Chennai. By upcycling waste materials into beautiful gift products, Micha Meedhi has not only contributed to environmental conservation but has also provided livelihoods to women and educational opportunities for school students.
Another impactful initiative emerged from the SST: a bridge school established in rural Rajasthan by Moin and Asif. In a region plagued by high dropout rates, their bridge school has become a beacon of hope, encouraging students to continue their education.

These are just a few examples of the many inspiring actions and career paths that SST participants have embarked upon. The program has truly ignited a passion for social change in these young individuals.
Scaling for a Greater Impact
While the SST has achieved significant success, we recognize that there is immense potential for growth. Currently, our resources are primarily focused on the intensive nine-day workshop and limited post-program support.
To expand our reach and deepen our impact, we seek to invest in a more robust mentorship program. This would involve providing intensive mentorship during the first year, followed by ongoing support through our extensive network. With the support of funders, we can scale the SST to empower even more young people to become catalysts for positive change.
Measuring Our Success
We employ a comprehensive evaluation process to track the program's effectiveness. Pre- and post-workshop surveys, participant interviews, and action project reports provide valuable insights into the participants' growth and the impact of their initiatives.
Our Vision for the Future
Our goal is to conduct two editions of the SST annually, each involving 20 participants. We strive to attract a diverse cohort, including individuals from vulnerable and grassroots communities. By empowering these young leaders, we can create a ripple effect of positive change throughout society.
The School for Social Transformation is more than just a program; it's a movement. By investing in the SST, you're investing in the future of social change. Join us in nurturing the next generation of changemakers and creating a more just and equitable world.
